Furious finale at Chuenisbärgli
Straßer continues his slalom fairy tale

Next slalom announcement from Linus Straßer: The 28-year-old finished second in the Adelboden World Cup just a few days after his coup in Zagreb. After a spectacular comeback in Switzerland, the man from Munich is only defeated by Marco Schwarz from Austria.

Linus Strasser stretched his index finger up at the finish. The 28-year-old knew immediately that he had managed a dream run on the legendary Chuenisbärgli. And indeed: four days after his triumph in Zagreb, the Munich-based man also made a big difference in the slalom classic in Adelboden. After a fantastic race to catch up, Straßer improved from twelfth to an outstanding second place, only the Austrian Marco Schwarz was a little faster.

"That was unexpected, I didn't feel great. It was more of a work success, but I pulled it off, so I'm also satisfied," said Straßer, adding after his "favorite race": "The hundredths of luck were definitely up my side, it was incredibly tight. " Black was 0.14 seconds short, while Britain's Dave Ryding was just 0.01 seconds behind in third. For Straßer it was the second podium in a row in the slalom. Felix Neureuther last achieved this in 2017.

Once again, Straßer showed his (world) class, especially in the second run, after he stormed up from eighth place in Zagreb. But, commented Straßer on ZDF, he would "also have nothing against if I am a little further ahead after the first run". In Adelboden, after round one, they were already 0.69 seconds off the podium, but Straßer was unimpressed.

The coup in Zagreb, "it does something to you", he said, you just have to "steer it in the right direction". And the Munich man is currently doing this impressively in view of the enormous power density. For the World Championships in February he is one of the medal contenders in this form, but first of all there are four slaloms left.
