Fury in the Slaughterhouse recently had its first number one album. This is how the six-piece band celebrated their success.

The band Fury in the Slaughterhouse celebrated their debut at number one in the German album charts. Singer Kai Wingenfelder (63) has that “Bild” newspaper betrayed. In conversation, he said: “When the news came, we did a video switch and were just happy. After that I got terribly drunk. Because we’ve been working towards this moment for a long time.”

36 years after its foundation, the band recently entered the charts at number one with their new album “Hope” and was able to celebrate the greatest success in the band’s history to date. In the 90s, Fury in the Slaughterhouse was one of the most important bands in Germany. In 2008, however, there was a separation, about which Wingenfelder says today: “From today’s perspective, we actually don’t know exactly why we broke up.” The band finally celebrated their comeback in 2017 for their 30th anniversary.

“Hope in Difficult Times”

With the previous album “Hope”, Wingenfelder and his band mates reached number two in the charts in 2021. The singer explains that they are now conquering the top: “We give hope with our music in difficult times.” The current sixth place, which was at the top of the charts after a week, is “great and makes us proud”.

Currently on an open-air tour through Germany

Fury in the Slaughterhouse consists of Kai Wingenfelder and his brother Thorsten Wingenfelder (57) as well as Rainer Schumann (59), Christof Stein-Schneider (61), Hannes Schäfer (58) and Gero Drnek (63). The band from Hanover was not only successful in Germany, but also internationally. Fury in the Slaughterhouse are currently on tour and will be playing open-air concerts in various cities until mid-September.
