After the series end of “Futurama” an 8th season was announced. Now the streaming service Hulu presents the first ten episode names of the show, which give hope for familiar and new stories.

The first ten episode titles for the US streaming service Hulu’s “Futurama” reboot have been announced. Some names refer to existing storylines that will be picked up again in the new episodes. Other titles suggest new, much more topical themes.

The reference to a vaccine or being “cancelled” are references to modern themes addressed in the series.
“Parasites Regained,” on the other hand, hints at a story we’ve seen in previous seasons. The title of the episode probably picks up on the storyline surrounding the episode “Im Reich der Parasiten”, in which Fry was infested with parasites from a rotten sandwich.
Overall, the series promises a good mix of well-known stories and completely new ideas. Whether some of these acts will last longer than an episode remains to be seen, however.
Not all names of the 20 new episodes have been introduced yet. So it would be quite possible that some topics will be continued in further episodes.
Futurama first aired on Fox in 1999 before The Simpsons creator Matt Groening canceled the show in 2003. Due to its popularity, the show returned to screens in 2007.
After three more seasons, “Futurama” was supposedly discontinued forever. Then, in early 2022, Hulu announced the series’ resurgence for 2023. However, when the new episodes can be expected has not yet been narrowed down. So it’s quite possible that we’ll have to wait until the end of 2023 for the revival. In Germany you can see the new episodes on Disney+.
