G2 Esports officially ends its VALORANT roster

It’s now official: G2 Esports’ VALORANT roster is no more. Not surprisingly, since a few days ago, the entire workforce announced that it was authorized to find new avenues for the future. A decision that was directly related to the non-promotion of the organization in the new franchise league of Riot’s game, where all the best teams in the world are gathered for the 2023 international tournament, but not G2. And the underlying reason, which has never been confirmed by the game publisher until now, it is a sanction following the scandal which cost the place to ocelote, the director and co-founder of the Samurai.

In the end, G2 Esports therefore drew a line under its VALORANT roster and disbanded its team: AvovA, hoody, Meddo, nukkyeand the Spanish mixwell who left for Team Heretics for the new season, joining the Frenchman keloqz who had already made the journey last February. G2’s VALORANT roster was founded in 2020 and had a very interesting start to the year, with victories in each competition, such as the Vitality European Tour, the BLAST Twitch Invitational or the WePlay Invitational.

In the finals of the VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers or the Stage 3 Challengers 1 of the VCT 2021, G2 have never done better than a podium in major competitions. On his record, we note a semi-final at the Masters 3 in Berlin in 2021 and a 5/6th place at the Masters 1 in Reykjavik in April.. From now on, it will be necessary to count on its excellent women’s team, G2 Gozen.
