It’s a (very small) scandal on the esports scene of VALORANT. The young American player of G2 Esports, Francis “OXY” Hoang, 17, who signed last December in the structure, is accused of having rigged results. It is Travis “tdawgg” Regancontent creator and in-game leader of Metro Esports, which reveals the information in an investigative video published on its accounts. According to him, OXY deliberately lost ranked matches on an alternative account named BTS V STAN.
He explains that the player trolls his teammates, voluntarily does anti-game but will never be sanctioned due to its recent acquisition by G2 Esports.
Why run around aimlessly saying the game is over in the first round, without communicating with your teammates who are actively trying to win? Why make fun of them and troll them when they crash or shoot badly? You are part of the challenge of ranked play in VALORANT.
G2 OXY responded to the accusations by showing his rank 35 on his main account, pretending that it would be impossible to have this level if he had thrown each part. Meanwhile, his new G2 teammates ShahZaM and dapr defended the player by insinuating jealousy from tdawgg.
The case could well end there, Riot probably does not have enough evidence to conduct further investigations. It could also simply be a simple settling of scores between the two players. In the meantime, G2 Esports, which did not secure its franchise league spot following the ocelote/Andrew Tate case, launched a new roster in December, which will play in NA Challengers soon.
