G7 meeting Friday on food security after Ukraine invasion


BERLIN, March 8 (Reuters) – Germany said it would host a virtual meeting of G7 agriculture ministers on Friday to discuss the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on global food security and how to stabilize food markets.

“The food supply in Germany and the European Union is safe but major shortages can occur in countries outside the EU, especially shortages are already prevalent today due to problems such as drought “, German Agriculture Minister Cem Oezdemir said in a statement.
