G7 MOBILIZES $19.8 BILLION FOR UKRAINE AND SAYS READY TO DO MORE

KÖNIGSWINTER, Germany (Reuters) – The G7 said on Friday it had mobilized $19.8 billion (18.7 billion euros) to support Ukraine and pledged to provide additional financial support if needed.

Finance ministers and central bank governors from the Group of Seven met in Germany to discuss, among other things, financial aid to be provided to Ukraine.

“We have mobilized $19.8 billion in budget support, including $9.5 billion in recent commitments… to help Ukraine close a financing gap and continue to ensure the delivery of basis to the Ukrainian population,” the G7 countries said in a statement.

“Furthermore, we welcome the ongoing work within the G7 and international financial institutions towards substantial new financing for Ukraine, including the European Commission’s proposal to provide up to €9 billion macro-financial assistance,” the statement read.

“The planned additional support for Ukrainian state enterprises and the private sector through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation amounts to $3.4 billion,” the report said. communicated.

“We will continue to support Ukraine throughout this war and beyond, and we stand ready to do more if necessary,” the G7 said.
