Gabby Petito case: “a shovel and garbage bags”, this chilling letter received after the murder

Almost two years after the death of Gabby Petito, the influencer killed in August 2021 by her fiancé Brian Laundrie, a letter having resurfaced proves to be very compromising for the parents of the young man.

It is a case that has stirred the United States. In July 2021, Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old American influencer, is going on a road trip across the country with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. The couple is also experiencing strong tensions and at the end of August 2021, the young woman stops giving news to her relatives. Worried, his entourage then sets out to find him, with the help of the police, and the body of Gabby Petito is found on September 19, 2021 in a forest in Wyoming. According to the autopsy, the young woman died of strangulation.. Meanwhile, Brian Laundrie, who had returned alone from the road trip without giving an explanation for the absence of his fiancée, fled and remains untraceable. The young man’s body was finally found at the end of October, near personal items including a diary, in which Brian Laundrie confessed to the murder of Gabby Petito. Authorities say the young man committed suicide with a bullet to the head.

But for Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, the parents of the young woman, the story cannot end there. The latter are demanding justice for their daughter and want everyone involved directly or indirectly in the case to answer for their actions, starting with Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, the parents of the murderer. They blame the latter for inflicting emotional distress on them by hiding information about their daughter’s death from them, and go even further. suggesting Brian Laundrie’s parents may have helped him hide Gabby Petito’s body. A letter, found in the young man’s backpack at the time of the discovery of his remains, could well support this theory.

Gabby Petito case: “to burn after reading”, this compromising letter for the parents of Brian Laundrie

The missive, written by Roberta Laundrie, Brian’s mother, was slipped into an envelope marked “To burn after reading“. A disturbing first element followed by even more chilling content.”If you’re in jail, I’ll bake a cake and put a file in it. If you gotta get rid of a body, I will arrive with a shovel and garbage bags. (…) I just want you to remember that I will always love you and I know that you will always love me. You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you, nothing can or will ever separate us, no matter what we do, where we go or what we say, we will always love each other.”, indicates the letter, relayed by Fox News. Brian Laundrie’s mother claims to have written it before the couple left on the trip, but Judge Danielle Brewer ruled that this letter was admissible as evidence during the trial which should begin in August.
