Gabi Delgado: DAF singer died surprisingly at the age of 61

Musician Gabi Delgado (1958-2020) died unexpectedly on Sunday. His bandmate Robert Görl (64) announced this on Monday night via Facebook: "I found out today that my long-time friend and bandmate Gabi Delgato passed away last night."

Together they founded the German electro punk group German American Friendship (DAF) in 1978; Gabriel Delgado López, whose real name was Córdoba, was a singer, songwriter and charismatic front man for the band. DAF is one of the pioneers of Neue Deutsche Welle and Technos. They were awarded the German Record Prize for their album "Alles ist Gut".
