Gad Elmaleh quiz: 9 looks, 9 films to find!

Gad Elmaleh is back directing with “Reste un peu”. On this occasion, a look back at the actor’s career with a quiz.

Rest a little, the new film by and starring Gad Elmaleh was released in cinemas this Wednesday, November 16.

After three years of living the American dream, the actor and comedian decided to return to France. He missed his family and his friends. At least, that’s the official answer to justify his return… because Gad didn’t (only) come back for his mother’s couscous. No, it’s another woman he comes to meet in Paris… the Virgin Mary.

Stay a bit

In this very personal film which recounts his conversion to Catholicism, the director turns his parents around.

Back in pictures on the career of the comedian, actor and director. We give you a photo, it’s up to you to find out which film it is.

A look back at Gad Elmaleh’s career

Gad Elmaleh left Morocco at the age of 17 for Montreal and then Paris, where he studied art at Cours Florent for two and a half years. In 1996 he wrote his first one man show with autobiographical resonance, Offsets, which was a great success, and the same year, shot in a feature film: Salut cousin! by Merzak Allouache.

Multiplying appearances on the big screen, the comedian also demonstrates great ease in interpreting dramatic roles. The cinematographic consecration came in the early 2000s with the transposition to the screen of one of his favorite characters: the romantic transvestite Chouchou. The film is a real hit and totals more than 3.8 million admissions.

Audrey Tautou & Gad Elmaleh in “Out of Price”

Determined to take his time and make the right choices, Gad Elmaleh triumphs again on the boards with The Other is me, and found his way back to the studios to take part in several feature films, including the romantic comedies La Doublure and Hors de prix.

In 2009, Gad Elmaleh goes behind the camera and adapts to the cinema the adventures of another star character of his one man shows: Coco, a businessman ready to use all means, even the most eccentric, so that his son can benefit from the most unforgettable barmitzva.

From 2011, the actor appeared in American productions: Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen, Jack and Julie, The Dictator and lent his voice to a character in The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn by Steven Spielberg.

The latter continues to tour in France since we find him in Les Seigneurs, Le Capital or L’Ecume des jours.

He then moved to Los Angeles and filmed the series Huge in France for Netflix. He returns to France with Reste un peu, his second production, currently in cinemas.
