Gaissau bankruptcy – removal of snow cat was legally covered

A curious transport caused a stir on Friday evening, not only in Gaissau. Days later it turns out it was legally fine. Two more snow groomers have now been picked up by the bailiff.

A whole village was amazed on Friday evening, and half the state on Saturday. After the bankruptcy of the Gaissaur Bergbahnen, a truck belonging to ex-managing director Bernhard Eibl transported a snow groomer away in a night-and-fog operation. Ironically, on the day of the bankruptcy filing over the ski area. The truck was stopped by locals and the police. For days, the truck and caterpillar stood in a parking lot on Krispler Landesstraße. As liquidator Wolfgang Hochsteger announced, after examining the factual and legal situation, it was now clear: “The caterpillar is owned by a leasing company, not the mountain railway.” It will be handed over soon. Funds are missing, but assets apparently exist their owners returned. This time, however, the bailiff came. A legally binding judgment – issued before bankruptcy was declared – was the reason for the release. Hochsteger indicated on Tuesday that the bankruptcy estate lacked liquidity. However, assets are available: elevator, facilities and a property could be sold.
