Are you faced with the decision to spend your savings on your next vacation – or spend it on exclusive beauty products? We wouldn’t say no to the latter either. In fact, some creams, serums, etc. are a real investment! But it can be worth it. The GALA editorial team presents five products that are worth investing in.

Radiance and coverage meet silky care

Editor Linda was enthusiastic about the Revitalessence Skin Glow Foundation this month.

Product: Revitalessence Skin Glow Foundation by Shiseido
Price: approx. 63 euros
Promise: Care and medium coverage combined! The foundation comes in 30 shades and was designed with Enriched with skin-care active ingredients. For example, fermented kefir preserves the healthy microbiome of the skin. Niacinamide provides radiance and a subtle glow. On top of that, the SPF 30 provides important protection from the sun’s rays, which should not be underestimated even in autumn and winter.
Optics: The foundation comes in a stylish glass dispenser, which on the one hand allows the shade to shine through and on the other hand looks like a care product thanks to the white lid. So it also creates the perfect balance on the outside of what the product can do on the inside.
Effect: Terrific! In fact, the foundation feels more like care, but still provides medium coverage like make-up. The face does not feel mask-like or veiled; instead, the nuances adapt well to your own skin tone.
Luxury factor: Summer is over, but that doesn’t have to take away your shine. The foundation gives you the ideal autumn glow and ensures a nourishing me moment. My little luxury!

Dull complexion that still shines? There is… yes!

Matt but radiant? This apparent contrast is the promise of Givenchy’s Prisme Libre powder.

Product: Prisme Libre loose powder from Givenchy in the color “Voile Rosé”
Price: 56 euros
Promise: The powder with four shades is intended to ensure a matt and at the same time remarkably radiant complexion. Irregularities should be skillfully concealed.
Optics: The plastic packaging feels high quality. Glass packaging would be more luxurious, but also heavier, which has a negative impact when traveling.
Effect: I didn’t like the powder the first time I used it – my concealer slid into the creases under my eyes, even though I used my tried-and-true technique. The powder cannot achieve long-lasting fixation alone. But I still love it for one reason and would recommend it to all of my friends: It has fine shimmer pigments and a light tint that brightens up the area under the eyes wonderfully. So I use the Prisme Libre powder at the end of my make-up, after I’ve already set it with another powder, and use it to brighten under my eyes, next to my nose and on my chin. This makes a very big difference in the end result! On the one hand, the previously dull skin then shines and appears visually, making it appear plumper. This effect is enhanced by the pink tint. I love it!
Luxury factor: The skin has this subtle glow that I think looks very luxurious.

A touch of Coco Chanel on the lips

Elegant like a little jewel. The new Le Rouge 31 embodies grandeur on your lips and in your handbag with its glass case.

Product: “31 Le Rouge” lipstick from Chanel
Price: 165 euros
Promise: Thanks to a special formulation, the product is not only a lipstick, but also a firming, smoothing and moisturizing lip care.
Optics: The high-quality lipstick is reminiscent of the finest architecture: Is it a glass skyscraper with a golden banister? In fact, the square cover is inspired by the mirrors of the legendary Art Deco carpet in Coco Chanel’s boutique at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris. Overall, the lip product feels heavy and therefore high quality in the hand.
Effect: Lip creation is the right word here! The stick glides over the lips like silk, leaves a slightly shiny finish and feels like a treatment. The color release is perfect for everyday life and a little touch-up in between: light enough to quickly apply the piece to the lips between meetings, visible enough for instant freshness on the face.
Luxury factor: Passion fruit oil, gardenia oil – the care component alone makes the lipstick a luxury item. Plus the heavy packaging and my very natural color rouge beige. Coco Chanel’s savoir-vivre resonates here.

Strong performance

Eyeshadow from Prada! Nane, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Head of Fashion & Beauty, immediately finds her fashion and beauty heart beating faster. Of course, this novelty must be tested directly.

Product: Prada Dimensions eyeshadow in the color 04 Poetry
Price: approx. 80 euros
Promise: The eyeshadows are manufactured using a low-pressure injection process with Micro-Pixel™ pigments to ensure strong color density. Plunkentia volubilis oil is also said to provide a smoother look on the eyelids and seamless application. Twelve hours of lasting comfort are also promised.
Optics: The Prada Dimensions eyeshadows are inspired by archival prints and are very much based on Prada fashion. The iconic triangle is used several times and is unmistakable. A real gem for our beauty bag.
Effect: Personally, I really like the combination of the Dimensions eyeshadows. More neutral tones are combined with bolder colors, meaning that very different looks can be created from one palette. Each palette contains a mini blending brush and a mini foam applicator – perfect for optimal application and blending. The textures are super nice and very comfortable to wear. I’m also impressed by the durability and pigmentation.
Luxury factor: Prada is a brand that stands for pure luxury. I’m all the more pleased that the brand now also offers decorative cosmetics and skincare. Whether it’s daily make-up or more complex make-up, I always celebrate this moment as absolute me time for myself. Above all, that is pure luxury these days.

The optimal regeneration for the skin

Editor Ilka is a big fan of the Replasty Age Recovery Night Cream and is now testing the day cream.

© PR

Product: Replasty Age Recovery Day Cream by Helena Rubinstein
Price: approx. 356 euros for 50ml
Promise: With the expertise of Laclinic Montreux, Helena Rubinstein’s research laboratory has developed a care series that is intended to best support the regeneration of the skin. Three soothing active ingredients: niacinamide, madecassoside and Tasmania extract as well as Pro-Xylane TM solution provide the skin with moisture with its bandage-like texture, it has a calming effect on the skin and also firms it.
Optics: Matching like day and night, the day cream comes in a white jar and is visually different from the night cream in black packaging.
Effect: I’ve been a big fan of the Replasty Age Recovery Night Cream for a long time and always use it when my skin is particularly irritated, which is why I really wanted to try the day cream. Similar to the night cream, the formulation here is also very rich, which is why very little product should be used. Personally, I first rub the product in my hands so that it warms up slightly, then place my hands on my face and then start massaging the cream into my face in upward, smoothing movements. The cream may feel greasy at first, but by the next morning it has all been absorbed and the first redness of the skin has subsided.
Luxury factor: For me, the cream is pure luxury simply because of its formulation. The effect is also quick and constant. However, I wouldn’t use the cream every day, but rather in moments when my skin needs special protection.
