In mid-February 2024, leaker @evleaks was happy to share marketing images of the Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35. Concerning the second mid-range model expected for this semester, an article from YTechB ended the suspense.

Sharing new images of the Galaxy A35, the media recalls the four new design elements compared to the Galaxy A34:

  • The transition from rounded to flat slices
  • The introduction of the Key Island of the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25, a rounded surface housing the volume and power buttons
  • Replacing the waterdrop notch with a punch-hole centered at the top of the screen for the selfie camera
  • Four exclusive colors: Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Lemon (yellow), Awesome Lilac and Awesome Navy (dark blue)

The entire technical sheet of the Galaxy A35 has been shared. To begin with, we would find a 6.6-inch Amoled screen with a definition of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The terminal would also benefit from IP67 certification, a rear photo module with ultra wide-angle 8 MP (f/2.2) and 5 MP macro (f/2.4), a 13 MP selfie camera (f/2.2) and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The developments compared to the Galaxy A34 would thus be found in terms of power and photography. The purchaser would be entitled to a new Samsung Exynos 1380 chip, replacing the MediaTek Dimensity 1080. The RAM/storage configurations would also improve with the disappearance of the 4/128 GB version. The smartphone would thus benefit from at least 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, at best an 8/256 GB combo.

For its part, the main photo sensor would improve significantly by moving to a definition of 50 Mpx on the Galaxy A35, compared to 48 Mpx on the current model (still with an aperture of f/1.8). For video, the smartphone could film up to 30 frames per second in 4K with the rear photo module, and in FHD at 30 fps thanks to the front camera.

This new model would gain a little weight by going to 209 g (+10 g) and would run under One UI 6.1 upon release, therefore potentially with Galaxy AI features.

As a reminder, WinFuture indicated last week the marketing of the Galaxy A55 on March 11, 2024 in Germany, therefore in Europe. The Galaxy A35 should be released at the same time, given Samsung’s previous launches for its mid-range smartphones.
