This Thursday, March 17, 2022, the South Korean manufacturer unveiled the new 5G models of its Samsung Galaxy A range during its online conference Awesome Galaxy A Event. Here are the Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33.
The manufacturer’s mid-range Galaxy A52 and A72 smartphones performed particularly well. The South Korean manufacturer has therefore finally presented their successors.
Samsung presents the Galaxy A53 and A33
The design of the two Samsung mobiles had already leaked in photos, but we were finally able to officially discover the Galaxy A53 5G and A33 5G. Visually, these mid-range smartphones do not go beyond the manufacturer’s standards.
We obviously appreciate the design Ambient Edgewhich prevents the photo module from protruding from the back, but also the IP67 certification which ensures total protection against dust as well as protection against the effects of immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
Both smartphones are equipped with a Super-AMOLED panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass. The Samsung Galaxy A53 has a 6.5-inch screen with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, while the Galaxy A33 is with a 6.4” screen limited to 90 Hz.
They both benefit from a stereo speaker compatible with Dolby Atmos technology for an immersive cinematic or gaming experience.
Four sensors in the back, one in the front
The Galaxy A53 and A33 are both equipped with four sensors on the back of the device and a selfie camera on the front. But these modules differ a lot between the two smartphones.
Thus, the Samsung Galaxy A53 is equipped with a main sensor of 64 Mpx, an ultra wide-angle of 12 Mpx, a Macro sensor of 5 Mpx and a Bokeh of 5 Mpx. At the front, it’s a 32MP selfie camera that’s housed in the punch.
As for the Samsung Galaxy A33, it has a main sensor of 48 Mpx, an ultra-wide-angle of 8 Mpx, a Macro sensor of 5 Mpx and a Bokeh of 2 Mpx. At the front, this time it’s a 13MP selfie sensor.
Both mobiles have optical image stabilization, while AI improves photo and video capture. We can notably cite the improvement of captures in low light.
This technology has already been seen, but it should be noted that the Galaxy A53 and A33 benefit from night mode which, thanks to an AI, automatically combines 12 shots in order to establish the best possible photo in a dark atmosphere.
A feat also possible in video, which also makes it possible to attenuate changes in color and surrounding brightness. Both smartphones also incorporate the “Object Eraser” feature to remove one or more elements from a photograph.
Samsung promises two days of battery life
The artificial intelligences on board the Samsung Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 also serve to improve the autonomy of the two smartphones, equipped with a large 5,000 mAh battery.
Compatible with 25 W fast charging, they are designed to last two days without recharging. In particular thanks to the AI which puts the least used applications to sleep.
Both models embed an Exynos 1280 processor SoC (octa-core, 2.4 GHz, 2 GHz) engraved in 5 nm, which can be coupled with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of ROM, depending on the configuration chosen. for Galaxy A53.
The Samsung Galaxy A33 is only available in a 6GB / 128GB configuration. It should be noted that the storage memory can be expanded with a microSD card, up to 1TB.
The Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33 also benefit from RAM Plus technology which allows additional RAM to be artificially allocated from the available storage memory.
Connected experience between Galaxy devices
As with the Samsung Galaxy 22 and its new laptops, Samsung continues its partnership with Microsoft and integrates OneDrive cloud storage to save its photos online. But also Link to Windows to easily share files with your PC.
Quick Share technology allows files to be shared with people around, even if they don’t have a Galaxy device, while Private Share allows protected sharing under your control.
Finally, smartphones integrate For Your Eyes Only to store files protected by your biometric data. The Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33 allow you to enjoy a connected experience between Galaxy devices, in particular with the Galaxy Buds headphones that you can geolocate with your smartphone.
Smartphones made to last
The Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33 run Android 12 and the manufacturer’s One UI 4 overlay. But surprise: Samsung announces that these models will benefit from an OS update for the next four generations.
The manufacturer also wanted to show its ecological commitment by specifying that these new smartphones incorporate a large quantity of recycled materials and that the overall packaging has been reduced to avoid wasting resources.
Both smartphones will be available in Black, White, Blue or Peach colors. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G will be marketed from 1er April, at a price of €459 in the 128 GB version and €519 in the 256 GB version.
For any pre-order by March 31, the manufacturer will offer a pair of Galaxy Buds Live as well as 50 euros of Google Play credit. As for the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, it will be marketed in the coming weeks, without further indication.
