A few days ago, the whistleblower Revegnus unveiled on the Exynos 1380 of the Galaxy A54 5G and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE then displayed a score of 1180 points in single-core and 3536 points in multi-core, more than the previous generation which had obtained 1108 and 2797 points respectively.
However, if we do not know on which device the SoC was tested, today it is a Galaxy A55 prototype which appears on Geekbench with similar results, although a little lower. The terminal tested, codenamed SM-A556B, leaves little room for doubt as to the identity of the smartphone tested. The score obtained by the device is, in single-core, 1127 points, and 3090 points in multi-core. A gain in performance compared to its predecessor, even if we should not expect a significant improvement compared to the Galaxy A54, which provided a satisfactory performance to say the least.
The benchmark thus spotted sheds light on one of the unclear areas of the Exynos 1480: developed in partnership with AMD, it will abandon the Mali GPU of its predecessor, the Exynos 1380, in favor of the Xclipse 530, a GPU based on the AMD RDNA2 graphics architecture, like on the Galaxy S22.
However, these new leaks are, by definition, nothing official at the moment, and we will have to wait for Samsung’s presentation to find out what this Galaxy A55 has in store for us, which is revealed a little more every day. It cannot be delayed any longer, several of the other new generation A models having been made official in recent weeks: the Galaxy A05s and the Galaxy A25, but also the Galaxy A15.
