Galaxy AI features, including live translation, coming soon to Galaxy Buds

On-board artificial intelligence features were a big selling point when Samsung launched its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24, last month. Although the company has announced plans to bring some of these features to older smartphones, it also intends to bring them to other devices.

This moment has arrived for Galaxy Buds users, as Galaxy AI functions will soon be available on the headphones.

The first is the Galaxy’s Live Translation feature, which allows users to make a phone call to someone speaking another language. When a person speaks, their words are translated into the other person’s language. Now it will be possible to do this through the headphones’ built-in microphone.

Some important restrictions

A very similar interpretation function is also planned, this time for face-to-face conversations. This is the most important for Galaxy Buds users, as the update allows them to speak directly into the microphone of their connected earbuds and see their words translated on the screen – no need to pass the smartphone from one to another. side to side.

Most of the Galaxy S24’s AI features are handled entirely on the smartphone, meaning they don’t require an internet connection to work. If you use Samsung headphones without a Samsung phone (or with a Samsung phone other than the S24), you will not be able to take advantage of the new tools.

Will you be ready to pay?

These features will be available on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds, through an update which should be released in the coming days.

It’s important to remember that Samsung announced that Galaxy AI features will only be available for free until the end of 2025, meaning there will be a charge for using them at that point.
