Galaxy S22 Ultra: Finally there is the first official picture!

The launch of the Galaxy S22 series is getting closer and closer. After numerous leaks, the first official image material has now appeared. The poster confirms the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S22 Plus, but also the name of the Ultra model.

  • The design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra approaches that of the Note series
  • The S22 and S22 Plus will get minor changes
  • The smartphones are expected to hit the market in February

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 continues to heat the rumor mill. While leaks announced the design of the S22 Ultra, a smaller battery for the S22 Plus or a new color variant for the S22, there has been no official information yet. Now, however, a first official picture has emerged that shows the S22 Ultra and the S22 Plus and brings some order to these leaks.

LetsGoDigital got his hands on a poster that is said to be an official picture of Samsung. The Dutch website does not cite a source, but relies on the fact that the image is similar to the images “often used in public places such as train stations, airports or on billboards along the streets”.

The published poster confirms the design of the P-shaped camera module on the back of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. In addition, Samsung is likely to keep its nomenclature. As a reminder, given the integration of the S Pen directly into the case and the approximation of the design to that of the previous Galaxy Note models, there have been rumors of a name change in order to tie in with the Note series.

So there would be no Galaxy S22 Note or any other name of that kind, and the Korean manufacturer’s next flagship would simply be called the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It can also be seen that the Galaxy S22 Ultra appears in a new color, where pink changes to purple.

In addition, the poster shows another smartphone in addition to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It is the S22 Plus, which should appear in the same design as the basic S22 model. The main difference would be the screen diagonal, which would be 6.55 inches for the Plus version compared to 6.06 inches for the standard model.

The camera section would be slightly changed compared to the previous generation. The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus have the slightly rounder, less protruding camera module, which means that they are less likely to tilt when lying on the table.
