The photos taken with the Galaxy S23 Ultra have obviously not finished surprising us.

While Android will soon be enriched with a new practical feature, the Galaxy S23 continue to be talked about with their surprising photo retouching.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: after the moon photos…

You probably haven’t missed the fake moon photos taken with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The device does indeed use artificial intelligence to make its photos look better and more believable than ever, although it doesn’t apply any overlays to the image, as Samsung recently confirmed. For those who would prefer to maintain the authenticity of their photos, simply disable the scene optimizer present in the camera settings.

But after aiming for the moon, the Korean manufacturer is coming back down to earth and is now attacking a whole new target: babies!

… make way for baby photos?

Our colleagues from The Verge were recently contacted by one of their readers who shared an amazing piece of information: his Galaxy S23 Ultra adds (hang in there) teeth (yes, teeth) to photos of his 7-month-old daughter. If the software processing of his smartphone erases certain small defects, we can however note that he has transformed the child’s tongue into a row of teeth (in addition to having removed all the charm from the baby’s eyes , by the way).

If some have tried the exercise, they have said that they have not succeeded in reproducing this result. On the other hand, the user victim of this image processing has meanwhile confirmed that the problem reoccurs on several shots of his child, and that this takes place when he activates the intelligent retouching tool from the Gallery application of his smartphone.

For the time being, Samsung has not yet communicated anything on this subject, so it is impossible to determine the exact nature of this astonishing modification. That being the case, we can easily deduce that the problem here is not exactly the same as for the moon photos, insofar as the scene optimizer was the cause, and that it is not this time concerned. Now, let’s hope to quickly find out the origin of these mysterious teeth…

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

  • Fabulous screen
  • Photographic performance
  • Performance

Successful design and ergonomics, presence of a stylus, top performance, remarkable screen, good autonomy and excellent photo quality: the Galaxy S23 Ultra is without a doubt one of the best smartphones of this beginning of the year. But you will have to agree to pay the (very) high price.

In order to acquire it, it will indeed be necessary to pay 1,419 euros (8/256 GB), 1,599 euros (12/512 GB) or 1,839 euros (12 GB/1 TB). This fabulously high price marks a significant increase (from 60 to 280 euros depending on the model) compared to what the Galaxy S22 Ultra was worth at its launch…

Is it really worth this price? Yes, if you use all of its capabilities (notably the stylus and the photographic aspect) and you have the means to afford it. It then becomes an exceptional everyday companion. Otherwise, go your way and turn to less expensive models.
