Galaxy S24 Ultra: the latest rumors on Samsung’s next monster (AI, screen, photo, video, etc.)

New information about the Galaxy S24 Ultra

To begin with, the whistleblower Ahmed Qwaider revealed this December 12 some interesting information regarding the screen of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. According to its sources, Samsung’s next premium model would benefit from a maximum brightness of 2600 nits, or 100 nits more than previous rumors claimed.

With this development, Samsung would make a real leap forward in terms of display compared to its Galaxy S23, limited to 1750 nits – which already constitutes a more than comfortable brightness. The South Korean firm would therefore no longer be very far from the iPhone 15 Pro with their peak brightness of 2000 nits, and would surpass the 2400 nits of the Pixel 8 Pro, and even the 2600 nits of the Xiaomi 13T/13T Pro. This model would still remain far from the recent Xiaomi 14 Pro, which promises a screen up to 3000 nits.

The same informant also corroborated the rumors surrounding the photo configuration of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. He thus cites the presence of a photo module with a main sensor of 200 megapixels, an ultra wide-angle of 12 Mpx, a telephoto lens of 50 Mpx, a telephoto lens of 10 Mpx and a selfie camera of 12 Mpx.

The most interesting remains the mention of the developments of this new generation compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra: the capture of 8K video with x5 optical zoom, while the magnification was until now limited to digital zoom; portrait mode with 5x optical zoom; improved day and night stabilization; and new portrait effects thanks to Samsung’s AI Object Aware engine.

Even more AI and satellite connectivity on the Galaxy S24

Two other rumors specify some characteristics concerning all Galaxy S24 models. Ahmed Qwaider first pulls out additional details about this generation from his bag, around artificial intelligence this time.

The leaker mentions a functionality allowing you to launch a search for any element present on the screen, in the spirit of a Google Lense. To take advantage of this, users will simply have to circle a subject or object in an image.

The second novelty concerns the voice recorder, which would offer the possibility of identifying and converting into text the words of ten people. On top of that, the app could translate and summarize recorded conversations. The Galaxy S24s would thus become perfect allies in conferences and meetings.

Finally, Sam Mobile shared a screenshot revealing a new feature: Satellite Emergency Messages. Samsung would thus follow Apple and Huawei by making it possible to contact emergency services in a white zone (without network) thanks to satellite connectivity. This is not surprising, the South Korean having announced, from the first half of 2023, to work on satellite connections from its mobile chips.
