Samsung is about to launch a new generation of tablets, and these have already been almost entirely unveiled before their official presentation. Find out everything we know about them below.
Our colleagues from WinFuture have unveiled new official images of the next three Samsung tablets, the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra, as well as all their technical characteristics. They coincide with the data sheets that had previously leaked, as well as with the stolen photos of the tablets from a few days ago.
Just like the Galaxy S22s outside of Europe, all three tablets will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. They will turn under Android 12, based on the new overlay One UI 4.1. We will also find a Samsung S Pen stylus with all models, compatible with features such as handwriting recognition or Air Gesture. The tablets will also feature wireless DeX functionality, a webcam mode. The screens will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5, unlike the Galaxy S22 which will opt for Gorilla Glass Victus.
What are the differences between the Galaxy S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra?
As every year, the shelves will adopt different sizes. The classic Galaxy Tab S8 will come with a 11-inch LTPS WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) 120Hz LCD display. For its part, the Galaxy Tab S8 + will offer a 12.7-inch WQXGA+ (2800 x 17752 pixels) 120Hz AMOLED display. Finally, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, the giant Android tablet, will offer a huge 14.6-inch AMOLED WQXGA+ (2960 x 1848 pixels) 120Hz display. Each model will feature even thinner borders than the previous model.
The tablets will be respectively powered by 8,000 mAh, 10,090 mAh and 11,200 mAh batteries on the larger model. The maximum power of the fast charge is not mentioned, but the tablets could be compatible 45 W like the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
On the photo side, the tablets will all bet on two sensors at the back, one of which 13 MP main opening at f/2.0 and a 6 MP ultra wide-angle opening at f/2.2. The selfie part will be managed by a 12 MP sensor on the Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+. For its part, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will offer 2 different sensors of 12 MP each, which will be housed in a notch, a first on a tablet.
Finally, we can note the presence of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 on all models, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port and 4 stereo speakers Dolby Atmos compatible. In terms of weight, count 507 grams for the basic model, 567 grams for the Tab S8+ and 728 grams for the Tab S8 Ultra.
For now, it is not known exactly when the three tablets will be unveiled, but these should arrive shortly after the launch of the Galaxy S22 on February 8. The Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+ will be offered with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, while the Tab S8 Ultra will arrive with 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 512 GB of storage.
