With the Galaxy Watch 5, Samsung wants to continue the successful restart of its smartwatch division. The biggest problem of the predecessor was the short battery life. At least for the Pro model, this mistake should not be repeated.
As reported by Sammobile, the “large” version of the smartwatch is to be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 590 mAh. This is aimed at a running time of up to 80 hours. For comparison: The predecessor only had around 361 milliampere hours and a runtime of 40 hours.
Doubling the running time would be a big step forward. Because in many everyday tests of the Galaxy Watch 4 (Classic), it was even shorter than specified by the manufacturer. The new smartwatch will be presented on August 10th at the next Unpacked event.
