  • The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will likely be released in the second half of 2022.
  • The manufacturer is more likely to focus on detail improvements than groundbreaking innovations.
  • For example, the battery should get a small upgrade.

While Samsung hasn’t announced a release date for the new Galaxy Z Flip 4, we’re expecting it to be released in August or September. Until then, we’ll have to settle for rumors and inside information about the foldable. So there is now news about the battery of the cell phone.

According to a report by GalaxyClub, this should receive a small upgrade. As with the Flip 3, the battery apparently consists of two cells that are supposed to be installed in the different parts of the clamshell phone. They bear the model numbers EB-BF721ABY and EB-BF722ABY.

The first is referred to internally by Samsung as the “Sub” battery, but it’s the larger of the two. The capacity is 2,400 milliamp hours (mAh), while the battery of the Flip 3 was 2,300 mAh. The second battery, although smaller, is the ”main battery” and has a capacity of 903 mAh. This is the same size as the smaller battery in the predecessor.

In the end, the Flip 4 has a battery size of 3,400 mAh and could therefore do a little better than the Flip 3 in terms of battery life. Of course, this first has to be clarified in a detailed test.
