The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has only been available in stores for a few days, but Samsung is already testing the successor internally. This is intended to correct a major weakness in the current model.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has only been available in stores since August 2023, when the first rumors about the successor Galaxy Z Flip 6 are already appearing online. According to the fan site GalaxyClub, Samsung is already testing a prototype. The cell phone, internally called “B6”, is intended to correct a major weakness of its predecessor.
Although the Z Flip 5 is one of the manufacturer’s premium cell phones, the camera is inferior to the S23 and Fold 5. Instead of three or even four cameras, the smartphone only offers two cameras on the back. A telephoto lens is missing. Since the cameras only have a resolution of 12 megapixels, the quality of the digital zoom is also modest. This could change with the Flip 6.
Flip 6 with 50 megapixel main camera
According to GalaxyClub, the main camera will have a resolution of 50 megapixels in the future, which theoretically enables digitally zoomed images comparable to a twofold optical zoom.
However, it is still unclear whether the Z Flip 6’s other cameras will also receive an update.
