Galaxy Z Fold 4: Samsung has reduced the fold of the smartphone, but it is still visible

The rumors had already spoken about it, it is confirmed today by the leaker Ice Universe: the fold of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be beautiful and less visible than on the previous models. The latter shared two comparative photos of the smartphone with its predecessor which proves that Samsung has reduced the depth of it. Without removing it entirely.

If the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has now been unveiled from almost every angle, a question still burns everyone’s lips: will the smartphone finally remove visible crease on his screen? A first element of response was provided at the end of May: according to initial information, the fold would be present, but much less visible than on the old models. Today, this hypothesis is confirmed thanks to the work of Ice Universe.

The leaker, particularly prolific regarding Samsung devices, has indeed shared two photos on Twitter, one of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the other of its successor, both taken from the same angle. The observation is clear: indeed, the manufacturer has greatly reduces the crease on the next model. Good news for many, but which is sure to make others cringe.

Samsung almost completely removes the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold 4

Indeed, if these images seem to confirm the previous rumors which stated that the fold would be 20% less noticeable on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the fact remains that the latter is still present. However, at a time when the competition has already managed to hide it entirely, such as Oppo or Motorola to name a few, it seems a bit strange that Samsung, however market leader, has not yet managed to make it likewise.

In reality, everything is based on the design of the hinge which allows the screen to retract. That of the Galazy Fold Z has a fairly narrow radius, which makes difficult their camouflage. Nevertheless, Samsung would have reduced the number of components on the new hinge, which allows it to lower its visibility somewhat. Note, however, that the fold is already, in reality, not very visible on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and that it should therefore be almost invisible on his successor.
