What is the promotion on Samsung’s folding smartphone?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, 256 GB, 5G compatible, was marketed at its launch at the price of €1,799, and since then can regularly be found around €1,300. It is now on sale at the price of €999 on La Fnac.

What is this folding phone from Samsung?
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is not the latest addition to Samsung’s range of folding smartphones. However, it remains a model that has very little to envy of its successor. Its dimensions of 155.1 × 67.1 × 15.8 mm closed, and 155.1 × 130.1 × 6.3 mm open, make it a large unfolded model, however with a pleasant grip. When folded, the smartphone fits easily in a pocket, like a traditional phone. The finishes are neat and the Fold 4 benefits from IPX8 certification, and can withstand short immersion in water.
The Fold 4 has a large 7.6-inch AMOLED internal screen, a QXGA+ definition of 2,176 x 1,812 pixels, and an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. The external screen of 6.2 inches also contains an AMOLED panel with an HD+ definition of 2,316 x 904 pixels, with an adaptive refresh rate of 48 to 120 Hz. The two screens do a very good job and are perfectly readable. Once unfolded, the minitablet appearance works well, despite a conspicuous fold. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor provides excellent performance and smoothness in most tasks.
Is the Galaxy Z Fold 4 worth it during the sales?
Less than €1,000 for a very good smartphone is an excellent price. In terms of photography, Samsung offers a good camera phone, which does not reach the level of other smartphones in the same price category, but which offers great versatility. The photos are quality, but sometimes too smooth. In terms of video, the Fold 4 can film up to 8K at 24 fps.
Battery life is around 12 hours with regular use during the day, and with Always-on activated on the external screen. If you only use the external screen, the Fold 4 will last you a little more than 15 hours, but you might as well buy a classic smartphone in this case.
