Game Awards 2022: A new record edition with impressive numbers for Geoff Keighley’s show

Apart from the incident that took place at the end of the show, we imagine that Geoff Keighley already had to pop the champagne for the last Game Awards, as the event will have been talked about. But Keighley is also a man who likes numbers, and he was waiting to communicate them to us to make sure that once again, The Game Awards continue to attract more and more people.

But how many Bill Clinton memes?

Every year is a record and the 2022 edition will be no exception to this rule. Keighley today reveals all the statistics of the show which took place last week, and which therefore gathered more than 103 million viewers around the world, taking into account the total of all streams. This is therefore almost 20 million more than the previous year.

We can say that it is because Steam Decks were offered to certain viewers on Steam, but the viewing share on Valve’s platform does not even represent 10% of the total audience (9.5 million users unique with a peak of 850,000 connected at the same time).

It is therefore a new bet won for Keighley and his teams, which once again make this event one of the most attended of the year in our industry. The next meeting is the Summer Game Fest, but it should fight here with E3 2023 to exist with the public.
