Game Freak apparently teased Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in Sword and Shield

Last Sunday, Pokémon Day revealed a big surprise with the announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Purple which will introduce the next generation of Pokémon. Since the announcement, fans have been dissecting the trailer to find many clues. Some have even gone further by linking these opuses with the previous ones. The Game Freak studio would have left a big clue that makes sense today.

The fruits of chance?

There are still many mysteries surrounding Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Purple. Will it keep a classic style or will it take up elements of Pokemon Legends Arceus who gave a breath of fresh air to the license? In any case, we know that it will be a real open world with Pokémon wandering everywhere, even in the streets.

With the clues left in the trailer, fans quickly found that the new region was inspired by Spain. In addition to a piece of map visible in the protagonist’s room, the trailer is full of references to two symbolic fruits of the country: the grape and the orange. The Spanish Centro Pokémon twitter account noticed that a wallpaper with these two fruits was present in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It’s subtle but crazy enough to be true.

This isn’t the first time that Game Freak has dropped hints about the license’s future games. In Pokemon X and Yit is possible to receive a “Bizarre Trinket” referring to the Alola region or in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you can see a Salarsen Gigamax poster from Pokémon Sword and Shield at the premises of Game Freak.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Purple are planned for the end of the year on Nintendo Switch.
