Pokémon Diamond and Pearl’s sound and music library is disappearing, and fans are furious that they’ve lost another way to listen to the game’s soundtracks.
An important piece of every video game is its soundtrack, and that’s especially true for Pokémon games.
However, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have made it increasingly difficult to listen to high-quality versions of their game soundtracks outside of the game. They are not officially available on YouTube or any music streaming services, except unless you want to buy each soundtrack for $9.99 on iTunes.
And those who attempt to upload Pokémon soundtracks to YouTube often run into copyright claims. The Pokémon Diamond and Pearl sound library was an official way for fans to listen to game music, but it’s also gone.
Pokémon fans livid after the limitation of access to the music of the game
On May 24, people who visited the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Sound Library site received a notice that the site would be shutting down on May 31, 2022. This news came just three months after the service went live.
The Soundbank was an official Pokémon site that allowed fans to download high-quality versions of the Diamond and Pearl soundtrack for free.
But, upon hearing the news of its impending closure, fans again requested that the soundtracks be made available on streaming services. YouTuber LewTwo posted a message on Twitter announcing the news, which sparked an avalanche of disappointed comments.
A number of users were confused by GAME FREAK’s decision to discontinue this service. A user replied: “I never understood why Nintendo doesn’t put game soundtracks on streaming services like Spotify.”

“The official Japanese Pokémon Diamond and Pearl sound library will be removed in a week, after being online for a total of three months.”
I have no idea of why Nintendo/GameFreak/Creatures/TPCi (Not sure which one’s in control of copyright claims and stuff like that) make it so difficult for people to find the Pokémon OSTs that weren’t uploaded by Pokeli

Despite this outcry, it doesn’t look like GAME FREAK has any plans to release Pokémon game soundtracks on streaming platforms anytime soon.
