Star Wars: Outlaws has officially shared its release date and its different editions. And fans are already cringing for several reasons.

The announcement is released: Star Wars: Outlaws will require an Internet connection to be installed! All game data would not be included on the disk of the physical versions. The information is directly visible on the cover of the game. It may seem banal to many, but it also provoked very radical reactions: “Thank you for the information, I am immediately canceling my pre-order“, says an Internet user on X, ex-Twitter, exasperated at having to connect to a network to install a single-player game.

It seems that those who have already pre-purchased their copy have not necessarily seen the cover art for the physical game, which clearly states “Internet required to install the game” next to the ESRB rating. Note, however, that if the game requires a connection to be installed, you can then play it offline.. A condition which is not so rare: before it, the Ubisoft adaptation of Avatar also required an Internet connection for its installation.

Remember that the game will be available on August 30. The setting is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and focuses on the character of Kay, a “rascal” who must carry out the heist of the century, and who will obviously make some enemies in the process. adventure.

Mixed reactions also on the editions

And it’s not just the connection that makes players cringe. The price of the editions offered, too. Pre-orders have now been open for a few hours, offering better visibility on the different content offered. Thus, in its standard edition, Star Wars Outlaws is sold at the price of €69.99 and comes with a Kessel raid bonus pack. The Gold edition has many players screaming with a price of €109.99 ; it includes the base game, the bonus pack, but also three days of early access and a season pass. Finally, the Ultimate Edition is offered at the full price of €129.99 and includes all the previously mentioned content in addition to an elusive infiltrator pack, a Sabacc ace pack and a digital illustration book. You can also approach this edition via a subscription to Ubisoft+ at the price of €17.99/month.
