Three years after its arrival on the PS5, Ghost of Tsushima arrives on PC to impress and to challenge Helldivers 2.

Finally an arrival on PC

Several months ago, PC players were pleasantly surprised to learn that Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut was finally arriving! Previously, the Sucker Punch title had preferred to remain on PS4 and PS5, where it remained, exclusively. From now on available since May 16, this new port offers to immerse ourselves once again in medieval Japan, alongside Jin Sakai; a samurai seeking revenge, determined to take back his lands from the Mongol army, even if it calls his honor into question. On PC, the title is more beautiful than ever, since it offers the qualities of Sony’s latest machine (provided you have the configuration). We tell you more in the test dedicated to it. In the meantime, we must admit that this return to the Japanese country is extremely pleasing and that it has almost succeeded in giving Ghost a second lease of life in Tsushima.

A return to Japan that many were waiting for

Almost three years after its arrival on the PS5, Ghost of Tsushima finally returns to PC, with an extraordinary start on Steam. Available since May 16, the title has already stood out, since it has become the second best launch from PlayStation on PC. On Steamdbwe notice that many players came to rediscover this adventure: a peak of 77,154 people were even recorded this weekend. The software is just ahead of God of War and its 73,529 individuals. So yes, we are very far from the 400,000 simultaneous connections of Helldivers 2, which still benefits from a large community despite its scandal. That said, it’s difficult to compare a multiplayer game with a predominantly solo adventure – even if the Director’s Cut brings cooperative gameplay -.

Moreover, despite these impressive scores for a PC port, Ghost of Tsushima could already be a victim of its success. While it was believed that Sony had gotten the message with Helldivers 2, the PSN becomes compulsory again, this time on the Sucker Punch software. You will necessarily have to have it to be able to discover “Legends” mode; the famous multiplayer brought by the Director’s cut, with the island of Iki. For Helldivers 2, the arrival of the PlayStation Network caused a real uproar and destroyed the reputation of the game. We do not yet know if Ghost of Tsushima will suffer the same thing and see its audience disappear. Since cooperation is completely optional, it is unlikely that the situation will reach the same magnitude. For now, the ratings on Steam remain very positive. To be continued…
