It has become one of the little pleasures of video game developers. Very often, the titles are full of references and other easter eggs, as they are called. While most of the time these are nods to other titles developed by the studio, some do not hesitate to cross barriers to evoke cult games. Recently, it was an innocuous inscription which was quickly linked to a sequence from GTA: San Andreas.

Players haven’t yet unearthed all the hidden references in Cyberpunk 2077

With the release of the extension Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 gave itself a huge spotlight, allowing a huge audience of players to understand that the title no longer had anything to do with what it was when it was released. Thanks to this resurgence, CD Projekt’s game has become embedded in the top 100 best sellers in 2023. Obviously, with such an influx of players, this increases the possibilities of discovering a whole bunch of little secrets scattered during the adventure and within the game’s settings.

We noticed it again, not long ago, but the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 did not hesitate to include a whole bunch of cult referencesnotably one which stars Keanu Reeves and which has been and still is making the rounds on the Internet. Except that recently, it was not another meme of the actor that was discovered but a nice easter egg linked to one of the most popular episodes of the saga Grand Theft Autoto know San Andreas.

A reference to the character of Big Smoke from GTA on the streets of Night City

In GTA San Andreas, we can easily highlight an enormous number of cult passages. For CD Projekt, there are some who are more so than others, like one of the scenes of the “Drive-Thru” mission which takes place almost at the very beginning of the game. In this famous excerpt, CJ is in the front of the car, on the driver’s side, in the company of his sidekicks and everyone places their order at the drive-thru of the former Cluckin’ Bell fast-food restaurant, notably Big Smoke who had a long list to spell at the terminal with no less than five different elements.

In Cyberpunk 2077, a player and Reddit user named Wave_04 noticed that there were strange inscriptions on the telephone terminal used to reach Solomon Reed. Indeed, these were indeed linked to an external reference under the title of CD Projekt, although it was necessary to know which one. For Wave_04, this was obvious, and we indeed find this order in Big Smoke’s command, as we can see in the YouTube extract above.
