Elden Ring DLC

The wait is finally coming to an end! The highly anticipated Elden Ring DLC is about to be released. Called Shadow of the Erdtree, it plunges us into the mysterious Shadow Realm. This new zone is filled with fearsome enemies, imposing bosses and captivating secrets. This time, our quest leads us in search of Miquella, a demigod well known for being Malenia’s brother. For more details on this highly anticipated content, check out our detailed review. According to Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of FromSoftware, this DLC is their most accomplished technical achievement to date. It remains to be seen if the game will keep its reputation, while a major competitor could emerge from the shadows.

In the shadow of a competitor?

While many players are impatiently waiting to jump into the Elden Ring DLC, another studio is preparing its return to the shadows: Exworks with The Lords of the Fallen. Remember, last year there was a lot of interest in this potential contender, as were many souls. We followed, in a medieval-fantasy universe, the story of an epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon god. Despite a few flaws, the game was largely convincing thanks to its artistic direction and gameplay, faithful to the classics of the genre. We recommend you take a look at the review if you missed this nugget.

Since then, the developers have released numerous updates, but are now moving up a gear with a sequel. This is revealed in a press release available on Bankier.plin which we learn that the studio has signed a partnership with Epic Games.

For the moment, we do not yet know much about this Lords of the Fallen 2. However, it is currently known under the code name Project 3. Upon release, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PCbut it will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As for the release date, it’s much more vague. As the project appears to be in its infancy, the game is only announced for 2026, with, we hope, the first images in 2025. You will therefore have to be patient to discover this new universe. In the meantime, we advise you to focus on Shadow of the Erdtree.
