As the Elden Ring adventure comes to an end with the upcoming release of Shadow of the Erdtree, the president of FromSoftware has suggested that the studio could soon work on a project at least as ambitious as GOTY 2022.
The bright future of FromSoftware
With the creation of SoulsBorne, the Japanese studio FromSoftware ended up building a solid reputation within the video game industry. From Demon’s Souls to Elden Ring, passing through the last Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, FromSoftware has been able to impose its unique vision of video games. Given the reactions from the community after the release of the first trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree; one thing is certain, the Souls-like genre has a bright future ahead of it. But while this DLC should potentially mark the end of GOTY 2022, players are starting to wonder what FromSoftware has in store for the future. According to Hidetaka Miyazaki, we can expect very promising projects from the studio.

A project as vast and ambitious as Elden Ring
Recently interviewed by Famitsu, Hidetaka Miyazaki was asked about potential projects he could work on next. When asked if he would like to make a game as large as Elden Ring again, the president of FromSoftware responded in the affirmative, stating: “Yes; I wish. I don’t know if this is something I could do anytime soon, but if I’m allowed to, then I’d like to try. The teams are probably thinking the same thing, we want to take advantage of the experience gained with Elden Ring. That being said, creating big worlds and big adventures is incredibly fun. It’s very exciting“.
In view of previous statements from Hidetaka Miyazaki who recently stated that FromSoftware was not currently planning to release more DLCs for Elden Ring, it is more than likely that this statement alludes to new projects. Whether for example a new Elden Ring part or a new license, it is now certain that FromSoftware is slowly, but surely, preparing to offer us new games at least as rich as their latest masterpiece.
