The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with the mechanics of the last title in the series, could this be the ultimate game?

The Nintendo 64 classic brought up to date

The modder notChase managed to carry the Grasp power from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom into Ocarina of Time, offering the possibility of crafting vehicles and even transporting certain NPCs! The Grasp power allows Link to grab surrounding objects and glue them together to create structures and vehicles. In the months since the release of the last episode of the series, many players have experimented and shared their creations, ranging from a simple van to a flying fortress.

The creator of the mod is already known for his previous creations allowing, for example, Link to ride cocottes (Cloud and his chocobos had better watch out), to do the Falcon Punch of the famous Captain of the same name or even wield Samus Aran’s arm-cannon.

The surprising journey of a Kokiri

Using as base version “Ship of Harkinian” (created when Ocarina of Time source code was released in 2021), the mod allows Link, just like in Tears of the Kingdom, to use his power to pick up stray wheels and stick them to a board to make a rudimentary vehicle. The power even works on NPCsand the video shows in particular Mido (the kokiri who blocks our access to the Deku Tree at the start of the adventure) being transported to the four corners of the Kingdom, across the sands of the Gerudo desert and to the crater of Mount Danger. However, it does not seem to incorporate a tangible steering system.. Another video presents this same power applied to rocks, trees and even pots near the Zora River, serving as a makeshift shield against an Octorok.

Far from being its first attempt, notChase, which however remains very discreet about its creations, had already experimented a mod including the Stasis module from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as the parasail from the same game. This version even includes updraft mechanics using flames. These mods are, in the creator’s own words, “purely made to create content for his videos” and are therefore not downloadable.
