Game news “It takes a few seconds”: Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the future platform for Ubisoft’s essential series, promises to be super practical!

After a somewhat troubled period, Ubisoft is determined to get back on track and is counting in particular (and not just a little) on Assassin’s Creed, whose projects are apparently numerous. In the pile, there is Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is revealed today more thanks to a well-known medium.

To Infinity and Beyond

We’ve been talking about Assassin’s Creed Infinity for a while now, a fairly mysterious project that Ubisoft has still not concretely revealed. The first time we heard about it was thanks to Jason Schreier via Bloomberg three years ago and the French firm has since made it official… without much more information.

However, thanks to Insider Gaming (a site specializing in scoops run by Tom Henderson), we have new information today: the media claims to have received exclusive demonstration images which it must not make public, but which he therefore allows himself to describe: Infinity would therefore be a kind of application bringing together the different Assassin’s Creed games, notably the next ones whose code names are Red, Hexe and Invictus.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be the hub of the franchise, from which games such as Red, Hexe and Invictus will launch. Demo footage provided to Insider Gaming shows the player switching from the hub from Infinity to Assassin’s Creed Red in just a few seconds, picking up where they left off, rather than having to start the game.

The present return

If you know anything about Assassin’s Creed, then you know that the “main” plot takes place in a modern setting, from which the player explores the genetic memory of the protagonist. Assassin’s Creed Infinity would thus set its context in the present: it could not only launch the different games in the saga, but also access new Assassin’s Creed content.

“The Exchange” will be the item shop, offering players the opportunity to purchase daily and weekly in-game cosmetic items for Red’s two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.

Infinity would act as a store for fans of the saga and would also offer a “Synchronization” function which would provide access to “projects” for each hero and heroine in the series. A “project” would in reality be a mini battle pass, supported by a scripted plot with cosmetic objects at stake. Many projects would be added gradually, making of Infinity a real experience with long-term service while also providing DLC or new versions of the games.

Finally, Insider Gaming claims that this rather special hub would therefore be launched at the same time as Assassin’s Creed Red (the opus which will take place in Japan, as a reminder) which will probably be released this year. Assassin’s Creed Invictus would be a multiplayer game planned for 2025 and Assassin’s Creed Hexe, sold as the darkest game in the history of the series, would be scheduled for 2026.
