As the weeks go by, we talk more and more about Stellar Blade, this ultra-nervous action-RPG with particularly slick visuals. Today, the head of the development studio reveals its lifespan.
Stellar Blade, one of the must-haves of 2024?
2024 should be a great year for PS5 players who will be able to exclusively enjoy several diverse titles: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Helldivers 2, Foamstars, Rise of the Ronin or even Stellar Blade… there is plenty to do.
It is the latter that interests us particularly today, which was announced in 2019 and which is directly supported by Sony: although it is an exclusive, it is nevertheless the project of the third-party studio Shift Up, based in South Korea and which is working hard to impress us (despite an unfortunate controversy).
It is therefore an action-RPG with explosive gameplay, which is praised for its similarities with NieR or Bayonetta, and in which we play as EVE, a warrior from an orbital colony who will descend to Earth to defeat the Naytibas. Our protagonist will be accompanied by several characters, will be able to greatly improve his various abilities and will use firearms as well as bladed weapons to chain combos and other ruthless kills.
Let’s not forget the exploration and adventure aspect either, enhanced by graphics that look flamboyant and make Stellar Blade one of the most beautiful software of the year. A rather attractive program, no?
Lifespan revealed
Kim Hyeong-tae, CEO of the Shift Up studio, recently gave an interview to the media Ruliweb: it must be said that after the very recent appearance of the game in the last State of Play, it has made an impression and arouses even more curiosity. Among other things, the number 1 of the company notably talked about the lifespan of her baby:
(…) the release was delayed a bit due to the polishing process. Game length is expected to be around 25 hours for the main story and 30-50 hours for all collectibles.
So expect to spend a few dozen hours in nearby Xion, the city that will serve as the scene for the events of Stellar Blade. A rather standard lifespan for this type of game, but no less generous. Brief, we meet on April 26, 2024, the date from which the title will be available only on PlayStation 5.
