Do you know Blade & Sorcery? This French video game is one of the most popular in the world of virtual reality and after years of availability, it is finally released in version 1.0.

VR has been established in the video game landscape for a while now. There is still a way to go to democratize it and some players are working on it, but a long way has been covered and some games have even enjoyed great critical success. Half-Life: Alyx or Beat Saber are some of the best examples, but we can also cite Blade & Sorcery, a sandbox released in early access in 2018.
The goal ? Slice, jump, massacre, bewitch dozens and dozens of mobs in virtual reality: the effect is guaranteed and on the web in particular, the gameplay videos are numerous and impressive. The game leaves room for imagination and mods too, with a myriad of possibilities, combos and truly impressive finish moves. It therefore enjoys great popularity and perhaps (probably?) you have already seen extracts on social networks, without even knowing that it was Blade & Sorcery.
Finally a full version!
If Blade & Sorcery took a long time to come out in its final version, it is also because it is a project that has come a long way. Basically, it was just a question of a single French developer, KospY, experimenting with a physics engine in virtual reality, before gradually adding major gameplay elements. One thing led to another, KospY founded FrogWapr, a real studio, and founded a real team of several developers.
The game has evolved a lot in five years of early access and now, it is finally accessible in its 1.0 version on Steam. It costs 29.99 euros and requires (obviously) a VR headset. As for a potential arrival on PS5 with PSVR2, the studio has yet to make a clear statement on the subject…
