Studios laying off people? The Palworld developers are recruiting!

2024 is already a terrible year for video game developers, with the industry seeing numerous massive layoffs throughout the month of January. If there is one studio that (almost) everything is smiling at the moment, it’s Pocketpair. The Palworld tidal wave allowed the group to see the future more calmly. But with a particularly busy roadmap, we will have to respect the promises so as not to provoke discontent among the players! In a message posted to X/Twitter, the studio said it “still has a lot to do” and needs new talent to get there. “We are looking for people for all positions, but we are particularly looking for planners and engineers”. We just hope that the working conditions are better than those of the Pals in their game.

But what is this video game that already makes The Sims tremble?

The Paralives game showed itself via a new video and the least we can say is that it promises a lot of good things. Its multiple options for editing its interior down to the smallest detail, its avatar creation system with numerous statistics, its possible interactions between “paras”… everything seems to indicate that we are in the school of a serious competitor to Sims. There are two important things to remember in this video. The first is that the title is planned for 2025. The second, is that it will be paid for at the time of its release but that all its DLC will be free. Paralives is definitely a “life simulator” to monitor.

The Steam Neo Fest hides a horror game to try urgently

The Steam Next Fest puts often promising software in the spotlight. But there is one that is starting to get a lot of attention on the Internet, it is Mouthwashing, a first-person narrative horror game, developed by independent studio Wrong Organ (How Fish is Made). The software places us in a drifting spaceship and invites us to encounter disturbing themes, ranging from suicide to cannibalism. The demo is short but very effective: if you want to be shaken with an indie horror game, now is the time to launch Steam and go into a space black as a moonless night. The final version is planned for the first quarter of this year.

Ubisoft’s free-to-play FPS is finally here!

Postponed several times, it should finally arrive soon. During a conference for investors, Ubisoft has confirmed that its action game XDefiant will arrive before the end of March. This feels like visible light at the end of the long dark tunnel for the development team who have encountered many issues in the past (netcode and stability). As a reminder, XDefiant is a free-to-play FPS which met with some success as well as positive feedback during its beta phases. There is, however, a lot of competition in this segment, and COD certainly does not intend to let a new kid enter the field without trying to put a blow between its two eyes. If all goes well, we will be able to test the beast in less than two months.

A sound bug would have revealed a future playable character from Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has just been released and is struggling to convince the press and players alike, we know that Rocksteady is doing its best to regularly offer online content so that its game service (sur)vives. While the Joker is currently the only bonus character to have been revealed by the development studio, a Reddit user thinks they have found the identity of another character coming in DLC thanks to… a dialogue that seems to have nothing to do with it. to do there. ZeronintyPlays indeed posted an extract gameplay showing his hero fighting, before Brainiac tells him: “I didn’t expect you to be the weak link in this chain, Freeze”. From there to saying that Mr. Freeze should be part of the cast soon, there is only one step that some take.
