The developers at Avalanche Studio want to thank the fans for helping Hogwarts Legacy reach astronomical sales figures, and clearly, they plan to show their gratitude through a free update which will be released this summer. There might even be new features, so what to expect?

An unfailing success
A little over a year after its release, Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy is still strong on its success. With more than 24 million copies sold on no less than 6 platforms, the studio’s game Avalanche Software is the best-selling title of the year 2023, despite the controversies surrounding the creator of the franchise Harry Potter. A year after its launch, many fans are still playing Hogwarts Legacyand most just ask for one thing: more content.
Unfortunately, Avalanche Software has already looked into the question of potential DLC, and they are rather categorical on this subject: even if the universe explored in the game would be conducive to it, there will be no expansion for Hogwarts Legacy. However, the American studio does not plan to leave fans behind, since a update is scheduled for summer 2024. New developments in sight at Hogwarts
While fans were already imagining a host of new quests, resources, and other major content, Chandler Woodthe community manager by Avalanche Software, saw fit to address the community on Twitter (or X) to temper the ardor of certain fans. He explains that the team “is very happy to see the enthusiasm of players for the free update planned for this summer”, but that they “are not yet ready to reveal more about it”.

He adds that the words used in the update announcement tweet were accurate, and that they intend to “add features” to the game, without specifying what they are. However, he concluded by explaining that this is a “small gift to thank the fans”, which could mean that the update will not be as big as players imagine. We already know that the contents that were exclusive to the version PlayStation will be ported to other platforms, such as the side quest “Take care of your cauldron”but we don’t know anything about upcoming features yet. Who knows, maybe photo mode will make its appearance at Hogwarts this summer?
