While the Avatar license returned to cinemas in December 2022, in a second episode called “The Way of Water”, it also offered a detour to the video game planet! Released at the end of 2023, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the latest blockbuster from Ubisoft Massive, the studio to which we owe Far Cry 3, The Division and which is currently working on Star Wars Outlaws… In short, the team knows how to bring impressive worlds to life, and “Frontiers of Pandora” is no exception. If not original (with its formula taken from Far Cry), it will certainly immerse you.

Saints Row (2022)

While waiting for GTA 6, how about a trip to a completely crazy open world? This is what the final part of the Saints Row saga offers, released in August 2022 on PC and console. So yes, with a score between 61 and 65/100 on the reference site Metacritic, it’s not a GOTY. But on our verdict at the time (15/20), we still noted “an effective action game that never takes itself seriously, rather funny, with really generous content” ! Stray

A little sweetness in a world of brutes: if racing or action games are not your cup of tea, you can now find Stray – aka “the video game with the little cat” – at a low price on the PlayStation Store. As a reminder, it is a rather linear adventure where the adorable animal will have to cross a cyberpunk city populated by robots, to return home. It scored an 83/100 on the reference site Metacritic and the price of “Best Independent Game” at The Game Awards 2022.

We leave with an original production which – also – was rewarded at the Game Awards… Cocoon is the first game from Geometric Interactive, a studio founded by former members of Playdead (Inside, Limbo). It’s an adventure title | puzzle where your character, a kind of insect, can transport worlds in the form of small balls, and enter these worlds with other worlds, etc. We played it ourselves, and it’s an experience that’s definitely worth the detour.
