Game of Thrones: a derivative series dedicated to Aegon I Targaryen in the pipes

And one more ! After House of the Dragonand before the potential series Jon Snow And Tales of Dunk and EggHBO is considering developing another spin-off from the universe of Game Of Thronesthis time centering on Aegon I Targaryen.

300 years ago Game Of Thrones

According to Variety, the American channel is in “active discussion” around a prequel series based on the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen, which takes place 300 years before the events of the series Game Of Thrones.

The project is still in its infancy, and no screenwriter is yet attached to the project. Several sources, however, indicate that HBO wants to accelerate development and is already looking for feathers. A film co-produced by the channel and Warner Bros. would even be developed in parallel, and could serve as a launch pad for the series which would be broadcast on HBO Max or the streaming platform that will take over from the latter.

This future series will tell the story of Aegon, his sister-wives Rhaenys and Visenya and their three dragons in their conquest of the majority of Westeros. As a reminder, Aegon I is the founder of the Targaryen dynasty, the first king of Westeros, and the first to sit on the famous iron throne.

If little information has yet filtered on this prequel series, we should get more details on the progress of the project during the Warner Bros. group conference. Discovery for its investors, scheduled for April 12. Digital will of course keep you informed.
