Game of Thrones: Do you remember encountering this beast?

GAME OF THRONES

In “Game of Thrones” many actions and scenes have horrified the viewers. But this person is probably one of the most cruel of the hit series.

The mega hit “Game of Thrones” is a fantasy epic by George RR Martin. The intrigues surrounding the Iron Throne are shown in eight seasons. A particularly heavy plot took place in seasons 2 and 3 and focused on the unorthodox happenings beyond the Wall. We’ll tell you why Craster is one of the cruellest characters in the fantasy series.

In Season 2, Jon Snow sets off into the wilderness to find out what real danger Westeros was facing. Beyond the Wall, he meets Craster and his growing family. Especially the background of his life and the domestic circumstances let a shiver run down the spine of every viewer.

In the second season of GoT, Jon Snow, together with Jeor Mormont and his Night’s Watch, wants to find out what exactly is going on in the wilderness behind the wall and if Westeros is threatened. Jon and his team are forced to seek refuge by the unforgiving weather.

They come to a house whose owner Craster gives them shelter. In the house, Snow and his followers stumble upon something strange: this strange house is home to a multitude of women, whom Craster introduces as wives and daughters. It quickly becomes clear that the wives were themselves daughters of Craster, with whom he fathered more and more daughters.

Mormont offers Craster that he would accompany him and his daughters-wives to Castle Black as it is becoming increasingly dangerous in the woods. He refuses because he himself found a solution to protect himself. How terrible this solution is, Jon has to find out for himself.

He witnesses Craster leaving his newborn son defenseless in the freezing cold woods. He realizes that this child is a sacrifice to the White Walkers, intended to become an undead warrior through this sacrifice. Craster has had a deal with the White Walkers for years. They leave him and his wives/daughters alone when he sacrifices his sons.

Jon wants to put an end to this morbid way of life. He tells Craster that he cannot condone his behavior. However, he lashes out, driving Jon and his men out of his home and forcing them to venture further north into the wilderness in the terrible weather.

Meanwhile, Samwell Tarly befriends daughter-wife Goldy. He leads her to Jon Snow. The two inform Jon of Goldy’s pregnancy, but Jon refuses to take her with him. Caster previously threatened to cut off the hand of anyone who touched his wives and daughters. Also, Jon doesn’t want to take a pregnant woman or a woman with a baby into the wilderness.

In season 3 we meet Craster again. This time, the Night’s Watch, led by Jeor Mormont and Samwell Tarly, once again find sanctuary with Craster. Craster, not wanting to hear any more criticism about his lifestyle, drives this group out of his house as well.

Unlike Jon Snow, however, Mormont does not allow this and emphasizes that he will use violence against Craster if necessary. What Mormont doesn’t expect, however, is that his own men are turning against him. Mormont suffers a fatal blow in the commotion, much to the horror of the fans.

Meanwhile, Sam keeps growing closer to Goldy. She has now given birth to her child and fears that Craster will sacrifice her son to the White Walkers. Sam does not want to allow this cruelty and dares to flee with Goldy and her child.

The remaining men of the Night’s Watch who did not stand against their leader seek revenge. They return to Craster’s house to destroy all the mutineers. Craster eventually dies in his own horror house. The wives and daughters are rescued after the Night’s Watch overthrows Craster.
