Game of Thrones: maintained despite the strike, filming of the sequel to House of the Dragon is finished. What date for season 2?

Filming for the second season of “House of the Dragon” has officially ended. The return of the “Game of Thrones” prequel is hoped for summer 2024.

While filming is preparing to resume in Hollywood with the end of the writers’ strike and the resumption of negotiations with the actors’ unions, a series is offering itself the luxury of carrying out the reverse path.

On his social networks, actor Steve Toussaint confirmed that filming for season 2 of House of the Dragon had officially ended. The interpreter of Lord Corlys Velaryon took the opportunity to congratulate the entire filming team, and revealed that the episodes were now in the hands of the editors and special effects supervisors.

To the great dismay of writer George RR Martin, production of the Game of Thrones prequel was able to continue because the scripts for the seven episodes had already been written and a majority of the actors in the series are Anglo- Saxons and join a union not participating in the strike movement in Hollywood.

No broadcast date has yet been announced, but the boss of the cable channel HBO has already hinted at his intention to bring the series back by summer 2024. In France, the series is offered on Amazon Prime Video, via its paid Warner Pass subscription.

Remember that the series, a prequel taking place a hundred years before Game of Thrones, is inspired by the book Fire and Blood (Pygmalion editions). Rumors point to a story spanning four seasons, while other franchise spin-off projects are still in development under the supervision of George RR Martin.

The first season of House of the Dragon can be found now on Amazon Prime Video.
