It was Kit Harringon, the actor who lends his features to the character, who revealed it himself.
This project, supposed to extend the universe of Game Of Thrones, had been made official in 2022. There was talk of a sequel based around one of the most popular and appreciated heroes. There was even talk of the participation of the author George RR Martin – a guarantee of legitimacy. At the end of 2022, we also discovered that Kit Harrington was very involved in production. It must be said that he is very attached to the character he played for years.

When it’s in development, you evaluate all the scenarios to see if it’s worth it or not. And, at the moment, that’s not the case. Note that the star still retains a tiny hope of finding, one day, an interesting story to share. He indicates : ” We made the decision to let it go. Maybe we’ll come back to it one day in the future, but for now, no. The project is put in the closet. »
At the end of Game Of Thrones, Jon Snow is sentenced to exile at Castle Black, for having murdered Daenerys Targaryen. He then decides to leave the Wall, to go further north, in the company of his wolf and a few Wildlings. The spin-off would have recounted his adventures in little-known territories.
If the Jon Snow project is no longer on the agenda, there are other series derived from Game Of Thrones in preparation for. Season 2 of House of the Dragon arrives in June, while another prologue is planned. It’s called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight and will be interested in the fate of a knight of whom Brienne is a descendant.
