Microsoft is on a confrontational course with Sony and snatches a former console exclusive game from the rival – and makes it available free of charge for all subscribers in the Game Pass: Bugsnax. The indie hit can now also be played on Microsoft consoles.
Microsoft is again giving Xbox Game Pass some new games in April – and one of them is a special surprise because it is so far only as an exclusive game on the PS4 and PS5 appeared. With Bugsnax, a former PlayStation 5 launch game is coming to Microsoft consoles for the first time.
Xbox Game Pass: Bugsnax makes surprise debut
Bugsnax makes its debut on Xbox: The charmingly quirky indie hit from developer studio Young Horses has been in Game Pass since April 28th. In addition to the base game, Game Pass subscribers can also look forward to The Isle of Bigsnax update, which will be released on the same day, adds new content to the game and is also included in the subscription at no extra cost. In the adventure you have to search for an explorer who has disappeared on the island of Schleckum. In this colorful environment you will meet the eponymous Bugsnax creatures (half animal, half snack), which you catch and feed to the islanders can.
Microsoft grabs PlayStation game
In times of time-limited exclusive games, Bugsnax is not the first and certainly not the last game to switch from one platform to another. For example, in the past, Rise of the Tomb Raider was exclusive to Xbox One for a year before coming to PS4.
Likewise is expected Deathloop’s PS5 exclusivity in September this year expire – the game from Bethesda developer Arkane Studios was already part of a deal with PlayStation before it was acquired by Microsoft. With the expiration of the usual exclusivity of one year from the release, the time warp shooter can also be expected for the Xbox Game Pass this fall.
