Until now rather known for its keyboards, mice and audio devices, HyperX is now embarking on the design of monitors. Its first models, baptized Armada, have the particularity of being supplied as standard with an articulated support arm.

Gamescom 2022, which is currently being held in Cologne (Germany), is the theater chosen by HyperX to announce an extension of its catalog, which now includes monitors. Despite their characteristics, the first two models in the range, called Armada, will have no difficulty in differentiating themselves from their competitors on the shelves thanks to their main accessory provided: an articulated support arm.
In itself, such an articulated arm has never been seen, because there are multiple models sold separately on the market and compatible with the vast majority of monitors on the market. Its inclusion with the Armada models, however, avoids an additional expense of up to a hundred euros.
HyperX doesn’t seem to have skimped on the quality of support that comes with its monitors. The support itself can be fixed to the desk by screwing or by means of a clamp. It is able to accommodate several arms that can be stacked on top of each other for multi-screen configurations (up to four 24-inch screens, or two 27-inch screens). A VESA adapter is provided and therefore allows the arm to also accommodate other references than those of HyperX – within a weight limit of 9 kg per screen.
As for the screens themselves, the lineup includes the 24.5-inch-diagonal Armada 25, and the, you guessed it, 27-inch-diagonal Armada 27. Both use IPS LCD panels designed in partnership with HP, parent company of HyperX since June 1, 2021.
The first is a 1080p screen with a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz. The Armada 27 goes to a definition of 2560 x 1440 pixels, still in IPS, at 165 Hz. The larger of the two models also has the exclusive DisplayHDR 400 certification; However, you should not expect an extraordinary HDR experience, since the panel is satisfied with a local backlight with only eight zones, which therefore causes significant effects of blooming. The manufacturer announces 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Both models are compatible with variable refresh rate to Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync standards.
The HyperX Armada will be available in September 2022, at indicative prices of €550 for the Armada 25 and €600 for the Armada 27. The articulated arm will also be sold separately, with or without its support.
