Gaspard Ulliel: a young British star will replace him in an upcoming film with Léa Seydoux

The young actor had completed a last cinema project, that of Emily Atef entitled More than ever. After this film, he was to find Bertrand Bonello, eight years after Saint Laurent, to play in The Beast alongside Léa Seydoux.

The start of filming being scheduled for August, Gaspard Ulliel has been replaced in the main male role. According to varietyBertrand Bonello has chosen George MacKay, a 30-year-old British actor, to succeed the late French actor.

The young man recently distinguished himself under the direction of Sam Mendes in 1917. He will therefore play the role of Léa Seydoux in Bonello’s ambitious project.

As a reminder, The Beast takes place in the near future where emotions have become a threat. Gabrielle finally decides to purify her DNA in a machine that will plunge her into her past lives and rid her of all strong feelings.

She then meets Louis and feels a powerful connection, as if she had known him forever. A melodrama crossed by the genre, which unfolds over three distinct periods, 1910, 2014 and 2044.

The theatrical release date is not yet known.

Léa Seydoux will star in Future Crimes by David Cronenberg on May 25.
