GAUSSIN (ALGAU – FR0013495298), leader in clean and smart goods transport, announces the creation of a joint venture with the Japanese group MACNICA Inc. dedicated to autonomous and zero-emission mobility for the transport of people and goods. This joint venture, 51% owned by GAUSSIN and 49% by MACNICA Inc., will take over the assets of NAVYA, the French leader specializing in the supply of autonomous mobility systems, in accordance with the decision of the Lyon Commercial Court issued on Tuesday April 18, 2023. Based in France, the new joint venture will be chaired by Christophe Gaussin, CEO of GAUSSIN, while Jean-Claude Bailly, until then Executive Vice-President of GAUSSIN, will be the CEO. The joint venture will be jointly managed by GAUSSIN and MACNICA, with equal representation on the board of directors. This acquisition saves 143 jobs in France and 6 in Singapore, i.e. 70% of NAVYA’s current workforce. In addition, redeployment proposals will be made to other employees in order to integrate the GAUSSIN production site in Saint-Vallier (71), as part of its recruitment plan.
