CAIRO (Reuters) – Seven hostages held in the Gaza Strip were killed in Israeli bombardments, Abu Ubaida, spokesman for Hamas’s armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, said on Friday.

It is not known when these seven people died.

The Al-Qassam Brigades indicate that the number of hostages killed as a result of Israeli military operations in Gaza now exceeds 70, Abu Ubaida added in a statement on Telegram.

Some 250 people were kidnapped during the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, according to official Israeli figures. Around a hundred of them were released last November during a one-week truce, in exchange for the release by Israel of some 240 Palestinian prisoners.
