The employees of Google Japan seem to be having a lot of fun, evidenced by this concept of keyboard so to speak brilliantly implausible.

Called Gboard Bar, it consists, as its name very simply suggests, of a bar along which the keys of a traditional keyboard are arranged.

Set the Bar high

You had to think about it, and it was Google Japan who had the idea first: to group all the keys of a keyboard on a single line, or rather in this case a bar. The subsidiary even has “perfectly” sensible explanations to explain its approach with this original invention.

Google Japan argues that its keyboard is more intuitive than traditional models: no need to search through a whole bunch of keys to find the one you need, just follow the line.

The Gboard Bar is also more ergonomic because it is extremely easy to clean, as well as better for your health. It prevents you from contorting your arm in order to press the keys scattered at different levels of stretch on a usual keyboard.

In addition to office use, this keyboard is multifunctional, being able to act as a hiking stick or a measuring ruler. Google Japan plans to offer a version equipped with emoji keys, as well as a gaming model equipped with the essential LEDs to deserve this name.

You will no doubt have understood that Google Japan is celebrating the 1er April very early, or had time to spare this weekend. No mass production is indeed planned for the Gboard Bar.

On the other hand, it is possible to recover on Github the data allowing technically to make a similar keyboard. The Gboard keyboard application is also available on Android like iOS.
